Iron Monk is a Stillwater brewing company. Its founders came to our senior class and asked us to produce a design for a new seasonal beer they had in the works. Their only prompt was a design with bright / summery aesthetic. They told us that the beer would contain a fair amount of hops, so with that information I went to the drawing board, literally. I sketched using Micron pens, and then took that drawing into the computer. I liked how my hops design turned out, so I decided to make an additional two designs for two more hypothetical beer flavors. I made sure that all of my colors accommodated their request for bright colors while also not straying too far from the original colors of the individual ingredients. I wanted the typography to feel lighthearted in order to maintain consistency with my designs.
